Ascent Architecture & Interiors’ principal architect, Seth Anderson, attended the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2017 Grassroots Conference, March 8-10, in Washington, D.C. As part of the Oregon delegation, Anderson met with Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon) to discuss the importance of incorporating energy-efficient design into federal buildings. The AIA-Oregon delegation, which included Katie Hall, AIA, of Pivot Architecture in Eugene, talked about sustainability and the state’s housing needs with Merkley’s staff. Grassroots is a national AIA event that focuses on leadership and civic engagement for architects. Anderson currently serves as AIA-Oregon president-elect.
