Bend, Oregon Brothers Changing the Way Our Clothing is Made

Oregon raised brothers Dan and Derek Bruton take on the challenge of creating the first U.S. made technical winter jacket out of recycled bottled and look for help from Oregonians and the Kickstarter community to make their dreams a reality.

The Bruton Brothers began New Growth Clothing four years ago with the idea of creating eco friendly clothing here in the U.S. that was fueled by their love of the outdoors. This active lifestyle has lead to the creation of the first waterproof Eco-Friendly Oregon made jacket. Named the Pak-Lite Utility Jacket its equipped with a breathable 20,000 mm DWR shell made from recycled bottles, weighs 2lbs, packs up into its own hood and is made HERE in Oregon.

“By manufacturing everything here in Oregon, not only are we supporting more than 100 Oregonians with fair labor, we can over see every step of the production process which insures that we can offer the highest quality product,” says Derek.

“We also wanted to prove you don’t have to spend $500 on a technical waterproof jacket. By cutting out the middleman and selling directly to the customer, we can offer this jacket at a reasonable price without compromising the integrity of the product. Last but not least, we have created our jacket out of recycled and sustainable fabrics, leaving less of a footprint on our earth.”
