Central Oregon Veterans Ranch Celebrates Purchase of Property with Memorial Day Open House

Central Oregon Veterans Ranch announce the real estate closing on the 19-acre property between Bend and Redmond. As of April 20, 2015, veteran volunteers began irrigation and property management duties and will soon be engaged in various work projects on the ranch, including the remodel of the four bedroom home for ADA compliance, improving pasture quality, and preparing for gardens and livestock.

The closing of the property was possible as a result of public donations and the generous investment of Thomas and Melanie Kemper. COVR is currently working with local OSU Extension agent Scott Duggan and agriculture teacher and Vietnam veteran John Jeans to develop ranch operations, and excited to partner with Home Depot for the remodel of the house.

The dream of healing veterans through service, education, and community is fast becoming a reality right here in Central Oregon. COVR will be opening its doors for two hours on Memorial Day weekend, Monday 9-11am.

The group will be serving coffee and giving tours of the ranch property to celebrate the closing and share their mission with the public.

Memorial Day Open House:
Central Oregon Veterans Ranch will host an Open House at their property located at 65920 61st St. Look for the long red cinder driveway just about a mile from the 61st St exit off Highway 97. The public is invited to attend between 9:00 – 11:00 on the morning of Memorial Day.
