Deschutes County Announces County Administrator Interview Candidates. Invites Public to Reception

Deschutes County announces five candidates who will interview for the County Administrator position in Bend. The public is invited to meet the candidates at a reception on Sunday, September 16 from 4:30–6pm. The reception will be held in the Deschutes Services Building, 1300 NW Wall Street, Bend, in the Barnes/Sawyer conference rooms on the first floor.

The County Administrator is appointed by and serves at the discretion of the Board of County Commissioners.

Candidates and their last three positions:

Donald Bohn: Assistant County Administrator, Washington County, Oregon; Deputy County Administrator, Washington County; Administrative Analyst, Washington County.

Dana Hlavac: Deputy County Manager, Mohave County, Arizona; Public Defender, Mohave County; Assistant District Attorney, 3rd Judicial District, Arizona.

Michael McNees: Chief Operating Officer, USA Track and Field; County Administrator, Blaine County, Idaho; City Manager, Sarasota, Florida.

David Meriwether: County Administrator, Hood River County, Oregon; City Manager, Silverton, Oregon; City Manager, Hope, Arkansas.

Gail Shibley: Administrator, Center for Health Protection, Oregon Health Authority, State of Oregon; Senior Advisor to the Secretary, US Department of Labor, Washington, DC; Director of External Communications, US Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Washington, DC.
