Northwest-grown environmental application developer, Verdant Web Technologies, seeks to make the most of Bend’s emerging technology sector.

Verdant Web Technologies Inc., founded in 2012, announced its relocation from Portland to Bend. The company specializes in environmental data tracking for facility managers. CEO, Ron Petti, who recently moved to the Bend area, said, “moving Verdant to Bend was a natural progression of personal goals, leadership transition and desire to be closer to the talent pool we need to grow the firm.”

Petti, who is also a 30-year veteran of PBS Engineering and Environmental Inc. (PBS), has been heavily focused on web-based environmental data management systems for hospitals, schools, Fortune 500 firms, public agencies and private organizations.

“Verdant’s parent firm (PBS) has continually invested in technologies to best manage the mountains of compliance data often compiled for multi-facility organizations,” said PBS’ President Guy Neal.

“Ron positioned PBS and Verdant as forward-thinkers on developing a product to meet a real need for organizational efficiency, risk management, and paperless compliance,” explained Neal. But with the fragmented market of data management and cloud-based applications, the company has focused on creating a unique product that outperforms its competitors.

“Many clients manage their facility information the traditional way—through stacks of binders, spreadsheets and hard-copy reports,” noted Petti. “As more and more boomers retire, a lot of institutional knowledge goes with them. The new generation of facility, property and regulatory compliance managers are accustomed to and expect immediate, online access that allows them to update information 24/7 and from anywhere.”

“Ron’s involvement in the Verdant platform has opened exciting new opportunities for PBS,” said Neal. “Not only are we able to provide testing and inspection services for facilities, but our same clients can now use Verdant’s software to track the data online, in a paperless fashion,” noted Neal.

“While PBS has been building its client base over the past 15 years in Bend with various hospitals, schools, OSU Cascades, park districts and regional landfills, Verdant has been working with local cyber security experts and software developers, such as Five Talent, based in Bend. They’ve helped us tremendously in launching a new Enterprise Platform Application. Bend’s burgeoning technology cluster offers an amazing pool of resources to help us advance our applications and market position into the future. We believe the timing for this move is perfect and we are very excited about Verdant’s growth prospects here,” says Petti.
