What began as a side business for Matina Christophersen, selling purses at a friend’s salon, has blossomed into the thriving Fabulous Finds, which just celebrated its fifth anniversary in April. Given that the business, which features trendy women’s accessories and clothing as well as new and vintage home décor, opened during the tail end of the recession, this anniversary is one of which Christophersen is very proud.

A loyal clientele has developed over the past half-decade the store has been at its current midtown location, 190 NE Irving (at Second Street). Yet, often customers enter the store thinking she sold consignment items.

With a desire to make her merchandise selections more obvious, Christophersen is changing the store’s name to 541 Trends, as it better describes the appeal of her fashion-forward clothing and accessories, which are her biggest sellers. Even the store’s large selection of home décor, which have a shabby chic, re-purposed aesthetic, is in keeping with current trends in home styling.

To celebrate this rebranding, Christophersen, and her husband John, will host a grand re-opening party at the store, Saturday, May 20 from 11am-5pm,offering champagne, sweet treats, and raffle prizes.
