Get There Challenge 2019 Launches with Commute Options

Fresh off the launch of the state’s new trip planning tool Get There, the Oregon Department of Transportation has announced the launch of the annual Get There Challenge. The Challenge, which began on October 7, is a two-week opportunity for Oregonians to win prizes by logging their biking, walking, riding the bus, carpooling and vanpooling trips — as well as teleworking days.

Whether it’s your daily commute to work or school or an excursion to one of our state’s great landmarks, the Get There Challenge is your best excuse to try a different way to get around.

Anyone who lives and/or works in Oregon can participate in the Challenge by creating an account at GetThereOregon.org.

Participants can use Get There to log one or more trips each week of the Challenge for a chance to win weekly prizes such as gift cards to Dutch Bros, Fred Meyer, Café Yumm, Portland Design Works, TREW Gear and more. Participants who log eight or more trips during the two-week Challenge will be entered into the grand prize drawing for one of two $500 cash cards, one of two $250 cash cards or a $1,000 gift card towards a Bike Friday Folding Bike. Central Oregon prizes include Laird Superfood Fuel packs, gift cards from Central Oregon Locavore, BellaTaza, GearFix, Cascades East Transit and Ruffwear.

Trips taken between October 7-21 can be retroactively logged until November 3 for a chance to win a grand prize.

The Get There Challenge (formerly the annual Oregon Drive Less Challenge) is sponsored by Providence Health & Services and Bike Friday. The Challenge is powered by Get There, a trip planning and carpool matching tool that makes it easy to find a carpool partner, plan rides and log those trips to win prizes.

Join Commute Options and Cascades East Transit for “Try Transit Tuesday” today. Enjoy free rides system-wide, and a celebration with snacks and prizes at the Redmond Transit Hub between 2-4pm.
