During the week of June 6-10, professional homebuilders from across the country will help nearly 250 families build strength, stability and self-reliance through housing during Habitat for Humanity’s annual Home Builders Blitz. Locally, Bend Area Habitat, with the help of the local building community, will attempt to build a house in one week for the Kirsch family.

Bend Area Habitat is thrilled to partner with some amazing and supportive individuals and companies to build this two-bedroom home for the Kirsch’s. The lead builder is Big Horn Construction Solutions, primary material supplier is ProBuild and the home was designed by Cornerstone Drafting & Design.

Other valuable and necessary partners include Bend Heating Radiant Division, Bend Painting, Boise Cascade, Brian’s Cabinets, Bryan Young Plumbing, Central Oregon Electric, CertainTeed, Consolidated Supply, Floor Décor, Gale Contractor Services, GTS Interior Supply, Paul Humphrey Construction, James Hardie, PlyGem, Precision Countertops, Premier Construction Services, Premium Roof Services, Rimrock Building & Development, Mike Roberts Flooring, Roofline Supply, and Value Garage Door.

Stephanie Kirsch says, “My son, Sean, and I have been part of the Habitat program for 2 years and have had one of the best experiences of our lives. The process makes you feel important and a part of something much greater than you can imagine. We are so excited to be able to buy a home of our own that is safe and affordable. And we are in awe of how many people have come forward to help build our home next week! We can’t wait to see it happen.”

The community can celebrate on Monday, June 13 at 4pm for the Blitz Build Home Dedication. Bend Habitat will show a time lapse video of the previous week’s build. Food and beer will be provided by Worthy Brewing.  Please RSVP to sbrusett@bendhabitat.org.
