2018 Numbers Still Exceed 2017 Numbers
After starting 2018 off with a bang in January, February business registrations in Bend dipped a bit. Bend entrepreneurs registered 281 new businesses in February with the Oregon Secretary of State, versus 297 in February 2017. So far in 2018, there have been 635 registrations; there were 622 through February 2017.
Bend continues to excel based on its population, with one business registration in February for every 324 residents. The state average was one business registration for every 735 residents.
“We see small variations month-to-month, which can be caused by the rate of processing at the Oregon Secretary of State’s office in Salem, and other factors such as weather,” EagerLaw PC business attorney Jeff Eager said. “March 2017 saw 328 registrations; I look forward to seeing how March 2018 shapes up.”
