Sprout Healthy Vending Opens in Bend

Mathew and Kristin Robinson have recently launched their new business, Sprout Healthy Vending.

Their mission is to give locations such as schools, colleges, health clubs, military bases, hospitals, businesses and others an alternative to the chemically laden, nutritionally bankrupt drinks and snacks that dominate the marketplace today. According to the Center for Disease Control, poor diet and lack of physical activity are closing in on tobacco as leading causes of death in the United States.  Or, as the Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy G. Thompson put it in a recent news conference, “We’re just too darned fat.”

Sadly, nearly a third of the children in this country are overweight and some experts predict that their life spans will be shortened as a result. Providing healthy food choices is simply the right thing to do. Matt and Kristin are making a difference — one Sprout Vending Machine at a time.

Sprout Healthy Vending Machines combine two major market dynamics: convenience and healthy products. They are merging over a 1,000 healthy options together with a state of the art vending machine to provide locations with superior snacking options at affordable prices.

All of Sprout’s machines are energy-star rated (energy-efficient), accept major credit/debit cards, and are refrigerated, allowing them to carry perishable items such as healthy juices, yogurts, smoothies, natural drinks, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, healthy chips/crackers and nutritional bars, all from one machine.

Sprout is locally owned by the Robinsons who have a strong passion for promoting a healthy, happy and active lifestyle throughout the community.  Both are actively involved in local races, and love to enjoy Central Oregon’s incredible recreational activities, whether it’s skiing the slopes of Mt. Bachelor or mountain biking Phil’s trail.
