The Central Oregon Builders Association (COBA) is pleased to announce the 23rd annual COBA Tour of Homes presented by First Story.

The mid-summer tradition returns to Central Oregon this year with 39 amazing homes showcasing the best that builders, sub-contractors & suppliers can offer.  Twenty two of these homes will feature the new Energy Performance Score (EPS).  This year we are proud to have several green built homes including another LEED certified home and for the first time we have a NET ZERO home on the tour.

The COBA Tour of Homes is July 15-17 and July 22-24, hours for the tour are Fridays Noon – 6, Saturdays & Sundays 10-6.

In a recession impacted economy, the COBA Tour of Homes is the largest “open house” event in Central Oregon, the second largest home tour in the state, and annually offers builders, sub-contractors, & suppliers an opportunity to present the best work they can offer.  Serious homebuyers from other areas and states typically travel to Central Oregon during these weekends to shop for homes.  COBA traditionally receives phone calls and inquiries from prospective out of state homeowners seeking to relocate to Central Oregon, and this year has been no exception.

Historically COBA estimates the economic impact of the annual Tour Of Homes is millions of dollars.  This includes homes sold, jobs and wages created, and supplies sold.

This year’s awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday July 20 at 4 pm at Tetherow, located at 61240 Skyline Ranch Dr.

The homes will be judged in a variety of categories:

•Best Landscaping

•Best Kitchen

•Best Interior Finish

•Best Master Suite

•Best Feature

•Best Architectural Design

•Green Building

•Best Value

•Best of Show

Additionally, homes entered as green homes will be judged in the following categories:

•Site Design

•Resource Efficiency

•Indoor Air Quality

•Efficient Building Design

•Other Innovations

The Central Oregon Builders Association is a trade association comprised of over 600 members.   About a third of the members are builders, with the remaining two-thirds of its membership coming from sub-contractors, material suppliers, and other support businesses such as banks, mortgage companies, realtors etc.  Annually COBA produces the Spring & Fall Home & Garden Shows, The Tour of Homes, the Tour of Remodeled Homes.
