A Celebration of Funk, Food and Fun in The Sun. July 30-31 at The Century Center In Bend
Inspired by the super-charged musical and culinary environment of New Orleans Jazz Festival, Parallel 44 Presents and In The Pocket Artists have set out to create a Central Oregon festival that captures some of that same energy, flavor and pure musical excitement that the Crescent City is best known for and in doing so they seeks to shine a light on a style of music Central Oregonians simply don’t get enough of, THE FUNK.

Advance tickets will be selling $60 for a full weekend pass and $35 for Saturday and $30 for Sunday. A limited number of $50 discounted full weekend passes are available now at www.VolcanicFunk.com. Main stage acts will begin at 1pm on Saturday the 30th and continue until after 1am with the final Saturday act, BIG SAM’S FUNKY NATION closing the night with a long set indoors in the ballroom. Sunday main stage acts will run from 1-11pm. All acts except the Saturday closer will perform on outdoor stages in the Century Center plaza area.
There will be a FREE festival kickoff party at McMenamins Old St Francis School on Friday the 29th from 7-10pm featuring free Reggae/Soul from New Yorkers THUNDER BODY (feat. founders of Giant Panda G.D.S.).
