Progress Continues on Central Oregon Community College Construction Projects.

Health Careers Building: This 48,000-square-foot building will provide up-to-date classroom and labs for the following programs: RN and LPN nursing programs, Pharmacy Technician, Medical Assistant, Dental Assisting and Licensed Massage Therapy. Exterior framing was all but completed this month. Framing on the second and third floors is 90 percent complete. Interior stairs are installed. The building is on schedule to be completed by April 30, 2012. General contractor: HSW Builders

Jungers Culinary Center: At the new home of the Cascade Culinary Institute, the college’s culinary instructional program, electrical and plumbing installations have been completed. The kitchen equipment has been installed and paining, tile work and ceiling tile work continues. Completion of the 15,000-square-foot facility near the intersection of Mount Washington and Shevlin Park Road is scheduled for late August this year. General contractor: HSW Builders

Science Building: The steel and a significant portion of the metal decking has completed on the 47,000-square-foot building that houses nine labs plus classrooms and offices. The patio area has been backfilled and graded and the installation of stone veneer has begun. The building will be ready for fall term 2012. General contractor: Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company

Madras Education Center: Paining has been completed, and exterior doors with locks were set. Permanent power has been turned on, and installation of computer systems has begun. The building, which will house classrooms, computer lab, offices and community room, is scheduled to open for classes on Sept. 19. General contractor: Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company

COCC Crook County Open Campus: In Prineville, installation of flooring and landscaping is complete. The 12,000-square-foot building will include seven flexible meeting rooms and classrooms and a computer lab with 65 wired and wireless public computer stations. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1pm on Saturday, August 13. General contractor: CS Construction
