NW Green Building Industry Summit September 15

0

The 2011 Northwest Green Building Industry Summit is central Oregon’s premier event for green building. Sixteen advanced classes will be offered on topics ranging from building materials and methods to heating and cooling equipment to landscaping. It’s a great opportunity to learn how to build a house that generates all the energy it needs, or install a landscape that uses virtually no water, or what incentives are available for commercial and residential building efficiency projects.

All classes are taught by regional experts and are qualified for continuing education credits. While the classes are detailed enough for industry insiders, consumers will find them valuable as well. This year’s keynote speaker is Christine Ervin who was U.S. Assistant Secretary of Energy and the first CEO of the U.S. Green Building Council (the folks who created Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design- LEED). The luncheon will include a panel of Central Oregon Legislators to address the green environment in government today.

The Summit will be held on September 15th starting at 8:00 am at The Riverhouse in Bend. For more information and to register, please visit www.coba.org or contact Gretchen Palmer at COBA, 541-389-1058.
