Zolo Media announced that its CBS station for Central Oregon, KBNZ, invested in master control to enable Deschutes County residents to watch local CBS for Central Oregonians, versus long time channel control with KOIN Portland. As of September 1, new transmitters, towers, and antenna arrays (broadcast and directional signals) will enable viewers to receive full conversion to the local KBNZ CBS affiliate, including residents in Bend, Redmond, La Pine, Sisters, Terrebonne, Sunriver, and throughout Deschutes County.

The newly branded and customized station will include a classic programming block weekdays from 2p to 5p with Little House on the Prairie and The Andy Griffith Show. KBNZ also picked up the first season of syndication for 30 Rock leading into prime-time with popular CBS hits such as NCIS, CSI, Survivor and other top series shows. In the future, the station will also feature in-depth local interest stories relevant to Central Oregonians.

Viewers now have the ability to digitally rescan their television to enable local KBNZ CBS broadcasting on Channel 7.1 over the air, or Channel 6 or 606 in HD on BendBroadband. Instructions on conversion can be found online at www.kbnztv.com.

“Zolo Media is committed to serving Central Oregon with programming that viewers want to watch. The Classic television block weekdays from 2p to 5p is a decision we made based on local viewers’ feedback and desire for family-safe, nostalgic programming,” said Tim Olson, Zolo Media Vice President and General Manager. “Master Control and the signal upgrade allow Zolo Media to improve the viewer experience while watching these wonderful, entertaining TV shows.”
