Final approval on the Gaming Compact was reached between the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Spring Reservation of Oregon and the State of Oregon, which means all federal documents are final for the new Indian Head Casino.

The new 24-hour casino will replace Kah-Nee-Ta’s existing casino which is currently located at the Kah-Nee-Ta Resort and will be re-located to a more easily accessible location.

The new casino will be located on Highway 26 in Warm Springs across from the Museum at Warm Springs in order to provide easy access to travelers along the Highway 26 corridor and closer proximity to the residents in Central Oregon.

The new 40,000-square-foot building will feature an exterior highlighting abstract features from Celilo Falls, complete with restaurant seating for 120 people, snack bar and gift shop.  The 24-hour facility includes eight blackjack tables and 500 slot machines.

“The new casino has an inviting feel and will focus not only on providing visitors with exciting gaming action, but also on great service and excellent food,” said Deepak Sehgal, Board Chairman, Indian Head Casino.

Designed by The Worthgroup of Reno, Nevada, and constructed by Penta Construction also of Nevada, the space will be ready for its first visitors the end of January 2012.
