Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Oregon announces the winners of its annual community grant awards process. Grants are issued to other local nonprofit agencies whose programs directly improve the health and well being of children and families in the region. Organizations serving Crook, Deschutes, Grant, Harney,

Jefferson, Klamath and/or Lake County were invited to submit requests.

Checks were presented to the organizations below at the Bend Ronald McDonald House today.

2011 Grantees:

$5,000 Saving Grace

$5,000 KIDS Center

$2,750 Assistance League of Bend

$2,500 La Pine Park & Recreation Foundation

$2,500 Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon

$2,250 Bend La Pine Schools Education Foundation

$1,000 Grandma’s House of Central Oregon

$1,000 Friends with Flowers

$1,000 Children’s Vision Foundation

$1,000 CASA

$1,000 Redmond/Sisters Hospice.

Since 2004, Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central Oregon grants have contributed more than $150,000 to organizations serving children and families in need. The funds for the annual grant program begin with donations placed in Ronald McDonald House Charities Donation Boxes at participating partner McDonald’s franchise locations. Once per year, the sum total of these donations is matched dollar for dollar by Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc. and returned to Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central Oregon to be gifted to other nonprofit agencies through a competitive grant making process. The 2012 request for proposals will be released in May 2012.
