Bob Eberhard to Give Commencement Address at OSU-Cascades 11th Commencement

Bob Eberhard, president of Eberhard’s Dairy Products of Redmond, will present the key address at Oregon State University – Cascades Commencement in Drake Park on June 16, 2pm.

Eberhard is a native Central Oregonian.  Born in Prineville, he graduated from Redmond High School and attended Central Oregon Community College before transferring to Oregon State University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in business with a technical minor in dairy products.  He worked with his father, Jack Eberhard, to help lead Eberhard’s Dairy Products from its beginning as a small four-person butter and dry milk operation, to the full service dairy operation it is today; processing milk, cream, flavored milks, cottage cheese, sour cream, butter and ice cream, and delivering these products throughout Central and Eastern Oregon.

Today, Eberhard’s Dairy Products employs nearly 50 people and is owned and operated by Eberhard and Mark Eberhard, who represents the third generation in the family business.

Eberhard has been an active member of the Redmond Chamber of Commerce, serving as a board member and president.  He has also served as a board member and president of the Redmond Executives Association, and a board member of the Redmond Development Commission.  He was a member and chair of the boards of directors of COCC and St. Charles Medical Center.  He has also served on the boards of the OSU Alumni Association, the OSU Beaver Club and High Desert Museum.  His service to the dairy industry includes board service on the Oregon Dairy Products Commission and tenure as vice chair of the Quality Chek’d Dairy Products Association.

While at Oregon State, Bob met and married his college sweetheart, Kaye.

OSU-Cascades Vice President Becky Johnson, said, “Bob is a strong supporter of higher education in Central Oregon, and is respected by people throughout the region, including OSU-Cascades students, for his leadership in business and the community.”

Guests at commencement include Oregon University System Chancellor George Pernsteiner, OSU Provost Sabah Randhawa, and former UO Provost and Senior Vice President John Moseley.  The ceremony will also include the presentation of the second annual Distinguished Service Award to Allan Bruckner, whose gift towards the purchase of the Graduate & Research Center advanced the vision of advanced the vision of Oregon State University – Cascades.
