Brookswood Blvd./ Powers Rd. Intersection Gets a Roundabout

0

The intersection of Brookswood Blvd. and Powers Rd. will be closed to traffic starting in the morning on Monday, July 23 and continuing through October 2012. Closure is required for the construction of a new roundabout. Work will be performed by local contractor Jack Robinson & Sons.

A temporary, signed detour route will be in effect for the duration of construction. Through traffic will be diverted to Blakely Rd. and Elkhorn St. via Beth Ave. and Millbrook Lane. The route is expected to function as a couplet, although traffic will continue to flow in each direction. The contractor will monitor traffic movement after the detour route is in place and the Bend Public Works Dept. will make any necessary adjustments. Due to the relative width of the roads, on-street parking will not be permitted on Millbrook Lane, Blakely Rd. or Beth Ave. during construction.

The Brookswood Blvd./ Powers Rd. roundabout is one of the three roundabout projects being constructed this summer. Funding is provided by the 2011 transportation General Obligation (G.O.) Bond program.
