BendBroadband customers with an Alpha whole-home system can now control their viewing experience right from their iPad

BendBroadband, a regional technology leader in broadband, digital cable and communication services, has worked with global communications company, ARRIS, to bring to market an iPad application for the Alpha whole-home system. The app gives Alpha customers the freedom to control their DVR and live viewing experience right from the palm of their hands.

Available now through iTunes, the app allows subscribers to view their TV channel listings and manage recordings while on the go. While inside the home, the user can use the app on the iPad, like a remote, to navigate the TV guide and tune to a new channel.

Features of the Alpha iPad App:

•       Browse the TV channel guide without interrupting the TV shows you are watching. View guide listings up to 14 days in advance
•       Schedule a TV show or movie to record
•       Browse recorded TV shows
•       Manage your recordings
•       Delete and reprioritize recordings for favorite shows
•       Instantly search, schedule and browse shows while on the go with a sophisticated search tool
•       Navigate the TV menu using gestures or the remote control app
•       Start watching a show on your media player at the flick of a finger

The app is quick and easy to use, and is available for free download on iTunes. To install the app on their iPad, customers just need to go to iTunes app store and search for BendBroadband. The new app will come up in the search results and can be downloaded.  When customers first log in to the app, they will need to verify their account by using their BendBroadband email address and password. Screen Shots of the Alpha iPad App:

Above is a screen shot of the TV channel guide. You can view what is showing on TV at that moment, or scroll 14 days into the future. If the user clicks on one of the listings, a pop-up window shows details about the shows and gives them an option to record once or record the whole series of shows (if applicable).

Above is an example of the TV remote control feature of the app. Users can type in channel numbers, play DVR content, or manually adjust the channel up or down as if they were using an actual TV remote. In this shot, the user is controlling what appears on the bedroom TV, one of the three TVs on the Alpha whole home system.
