Newport Avenue Market Recognized as One of America’s Best Local Delis by Boar’s Head

The First Deli of Distinction West of the Mississippi event happening January 26

Newport Avenue Market is being recognized as one of the most notable independent delis in the country by Boar’s Head Brand_®, a leading provider of premium delicatessen meats and cheeses. Boar’s Head has named Newport Avenue Market a Deli of Distinction. The Boar’s Head Deli of Distinction honor is only awarded to a few select delis across the country. Newport is the first to receive the designation west of the Mississippi and the 15th deli to be recognized nationally.

The Deli of Distinction event at Newport will host deli product demos, free samples, complimentary Boar’s Head hot dogs, popcorn, and lots of fabulous giveaways. Customers who flash their “FoodeFlash card” between 11 am and 6 pm will receive one free sandwich on their next visit. Boar’s Head representatives will unveil the first place deli products this side of the Mississippi.

A Boar’s Head Deli of Distinction status is awarded to independent retailers that promote the highest standards of quality and exceptional customer service. An honored Boar’s Head Deli of Distinction is also a reflection of the community and operates as a good community neighbor. Boar’s Head first began by delivering delicatessen products by horse-drawn wagons to small delicatessens and “mom and pop” stores in New York City. Today, over 105 years later, the company has grown, but the Brand has remained true to its standards for quality and exceptional customer service.

The Deli of Distinction program was developed in 2001, as a way to recognize those independent delis that mirror these ideals and go above and beyond to deliver best in class customer service, exceptional product quality and knowledge, the highest standards for food safety, and act as a good community neighbor. Only a few select independent delis receive this honor.
