Tourism Industry Booming

Director of Visit Bend, Doug La Placa, recently released the FY2013 year-end tourism data stating, “It’s exciting to see the strong and positive momentum in Bend’s tourism industry.  We’ve had two consecutive record years, and Fiscal Year 2014 is off to a great start.”

Several factors are generating the positive momentum in Bend’s tourism industry. “The rebounding national and regional economies have a lot do with the increased demand for our destination, but I think the true driving force is Bend’s increasingly compelling mix of recreational, cultural and lifestyle opportunities,” said La Placa. “Bend is evolving quickly in an exciting direction and the country is taking notice. People want to be here.”
