Cascade Publications Welcomes Volunteer Connect to New Offices

0

Volunteer_ConnectA few years ago you would have found the CPI headquarters building at the corner of NE Norton and Fourth Streets in Bend full of people: writers, editors, designers, production people, administrative staff along with the owners Pamela Hulse Andrews and Jeff Martin. At one time there were over 15 people working in the office building.

However, the recession meant some downsizing of this publishing business and the building eventually had several office space vacancies.

But no more!

CPI has donated much of the upstairs office space to Volunteer Connect which is Central Oregon’s link to volunteer opportunities. The mission of the growing organization that was launched in January 2010 is to connect volunteers with meaningful opportunities that deeply impact the Central Oregon community.

Volunteer Connect envisions a region of engaged volunteers.  With over 100 agency partners, the organization links volunteers with opportunities that match their interests and collaborates with agency partners to enhance volunteers’ satisfaction and effectiveness.

Volunteer Connect also cultivates students’ lifelong volunteering and civic engagement through service-learning.  Recently, Volunteer Connect took on Project Connect, the regional day of services for people dealing with issues of poverty.

Please join us in welcoming this savvy group of people to the Cascade Publications Building. And please take an opportunity to view their website and find ways you can volunteer in our community. Or stop by anytime
