The public is invited to join the Forest Service, Crescent Ranger District, on a field trip in late September to visit and review the Ringo Project area, south of Wickiup Reservoir. The goal of the field trip is to encourage public discussion of the values of the project area and desired outcomes for the project.

On Saturday, September 26, 2015 the Crescent Ranger District will host a public field trip of the Ringo Project, which is within a 30,000 acre project area south of Wickiup Reservoir. The field trip will begin at 9 a.m. at the Crescent Ranger Station, 136471 Highway 97 N, in Crescent, Ore. and end at 3 p.m. People should dress for the weather, wear comfortable outdoor shoes and bring water, lunch and sun protection. In order to plan for the trip, people who will attend are asked to RSVP Michelle King at mdking02@fs.fed.us or call 541-433-3216. If prior to the field trip, people have suggestions for what they want to see or discuss on the trip they should also contact Michelle King.

The Crescent Ranger District is currently in the process of doing field work and surveys within the Ringo Project area. Resource specialists are reviewing proposed treatments in the field to analyze impacts to a variety of resources like soils, wildlife, and plants from the proposed treatments. Following the field trip, the next opportunity for the public to engage in the Ringo Project will be when the Draft Environmental Impact Statement is released for public review, currently planned for spring, 2016.
