Redmond Municipal Airport Prepares for Increased Travelers this Memorial Weekend & Summer Season

0

With an expected increase in travelers during the upcoming 2018 Memorial Weekend and Summer Season, passengers at Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) might experience longer wait times at the TSA Security Checkpoint and limited paid parking lot availability.

To help RDM passengers ‘know before they go’, RDM officials have updated the Airport website to include parking lot web-cams, located at http://www.flyrdm.com/?Airport-Parking-Lot-Cams and banner alerts with parking availability, updated every half hour.

RDM encourages travelers to consider using alternative transportation options in lieu of using the paid parking lot. Those options include, but are not limited to ride sharing, ground transportation services such as taxi service and vehicles for hire, recruiting friends or family for a ride, or other off Airport overnight parking in legal areas. The curb at the front of the Airport Terminal is for active loading and unloading only. Vehicles are not permitted to wait at the curb, passengers must be unloading or ready to load. The Rental Car lot is for rental agency cars only. Private vehicles are not authorized to enter the Rental Car lot. Unauthorized waiting and/or parking violations are subject to a $50.00 citation. The approved waiting area is the Cell Phone Waiting area, located across the street from the Airport along SW Salmon Avenue.

Paid parking rates at RDM are based on time of entry (not entry date) and run on a 24-hour period

• $1 for the first 30 minutes
• $1 for the second half hour ($2.00 for the first full hour)
• $2 for each additional hour (and any part thereof)
• $10 per day Maximum (in a 24-hour period)
• 7th day of consecutive parking is free

RDM also encourages passengers to arrive to the Airport 120 minutes (2 hours) prior to departure time to clear through the TSA screening process. Passenger screening beings daily at 3:45am. To expedite the screening process be ready to remove electronic objects larger than cell phone and snacks. TSA would like to remind passengers to check all baggage for weapons, loose ammunition and other hazardous items prior to travel.
