Yesterday the results for the Independent Party of Oregon primary election were announced. Knute Buehler won the Independent nomination for State Representative of House District 54 in Bend with an overwhelming majority of the vote.

“I am very proud to have earned the nomination of Independent voters in Bend during 2014 when I first ran for State Representative, and again for my re-election campaign and the upcoming 2016 election,” said Buehler. “It is a privilege to represent all the people of Bend – not just one group, ideology, or party.”

Knute Buehler won both the Republican and Independent nominations for House District 54 (Bend). He received over 71 percent of the Independent vote – roughly 50% more than the nearest opponent. He was first elected in 2014 and is running for re-election as state representative this November.

“I look forward to building upon the success of previous sessions by continuing to reach across the aisle to get things done: improving women’s health, protecting small businesses, combating government corruption, and opposing job-killing taxes. I will continue to lead with an open mind, a tolerant heart, and a thoughtful voice.”
