Sponsor a Student for the Oregon Education + Entrepreneurship Startup Weekend

The first annual Oregon All-State Education + Entrepreneurship Startup Weekend is seeking student sponsors for the October 23-25 event at the COCC Redmond Technology Education Center. This first of its kind Startup Weekend event will combine Oregon college students, Central Oregon High School students and local entrepreneurs.

Businesses can participate by sponsoring a student for $99. This will allow students who may not otherwise be able to take part in the event to participate. The event organizers would like to open the event up to as many students as possible.

“We want to reach as many young people as possible, especially in Central Oregon,” says Larry Jacobsen, lead organizer of the event. “Bringing together students, both high school and college with other entrepreneurs will be an exciting mix of talent and energy.”

In addition, anyone with an idea is encouraged to participate. Participants will have a chance to take an idea and run with it hard for 54 hours. Entrepreneurs will create a working business plan along with a winning pitch for a new product or service, all within one long weekend.

Up to 75 students and entrepreneurs will form teams and build innovative new businesses focused on the athletic and outdoor industry! This event is the first of its kind in the nation. The title sponsor for this years’ event will be BendBroadband Business Services.

Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event, with teams working on the best ideas pitched Friday night and presented Sunday evening to a panel of judges. Startup Weekends span the globe, bringing together creative, innovative and motivated people to learn new skills, network and mingle with top industry leaders.
