The lodge and cabins transformed by Portland’s Ace Hotel owners begins taking reservations today for stays beginning tonight.

Reservations are now open for overnight stays at The Suttle Lodge, a year-round rustic resort in the Deschutes National Forest near Sisters, Oregon. The 15.5-acre property on the shore of Suttle Lake is comprised of a large timber lodge, fully equipped lakeside cabins, camp cabins, a lobby cocktail bar and boathouse.

Rack rates for accommodations start at $125/night for camp cabins, and the spacious lodge rooms begin at $275/night. Shortly following the hotel opening will be The Boathouse restaurant on a dock beside the lake, serving casual breakfast, lunch and dinner from a fish-shack-meets-diner-style menu created by chef Joshua McFadden of Portland’s Ava Gene’s.

Adjacent to The Boathouse are a provisions shop, beer garden, and watercraft rentals (canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboards), all open to the public.

In October 2015 the lodge, restaurant, marina and cabins were purchased for $1.5 million by Dave Schrott and Robert Sacks of the Portland-based firm A&R Development, owners of the Clyde Hotel building in Portland which houses the Ace Hotel. The Suttle Lodge & Boathouse is operated by The Mighty Union, a new hospitality project from the creative and management team behind the Ace Hotel Portland.

At The Suttle Lodge, The Mighty Union brings together the best of an urban hotel (comfort, quality food and drink, convivial spaces) while preserving what’s most restorative about a wilderness location (quiet, nature, nostalgia). The property is an easy overnight getaway from Portland, as well as suitable for weeks-long retreats. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, as a lodge in the woods should be, and families and pets are welcomed.

Reservations at The Suttle Lodge can be made online now for stays beginning tonight at TheSuttleLodge.com. See additional photos and updates from The Suttle Lodge on Instagram @SuttleLodge

About The Mighty Union
The old Clyde Hotel in Portland, Oregon has always been owned and operated as an Ace hotel independently from the larger Ace brand. It was the first, grand Ace experiment — a collaborative, DIY attempt to tap into all of the different energies of a city and revive the notion of the hotel as a dynamic, convivial “Place.” The result is a little handmade, but it is honest and it is bustling with energy. The folks behind Ace Hotel Portland, Spirit of 77 and Pepe Le Moko are now The Mighty Union and they are taking their act on the road. Their first new project, The Suttle Lodge & Boathouse, is a direct extension of what they have done in Portland. TheMightyUnion.com
