Razor Floor Removal in Bend is a unique solution to the complicated issue of stripping out old flooring. Owner Steve McIntyre considers even the most grueling of jobs a personal challenge and he and his staff are well equipped to eradicate the most persistent of previously-applied materials.

“We are a professional floor removal service for commercial and industrial products,” said McIntyre. “We removed difficult types of floor coverings like old carpet, vinyl, ceramic tile, vinyl tiles and hardwoods. Basically, we provide an initial consultation that goes over all the specifics of the project needs. Then our professional technician prepares the area and site for flooring removal. After it’s gone and prepped the area is ready to receive a new flooring application. It’s a simple, cost-effective method allowing contactors to stay on budget. “

McIntyre started the business in 2013 and has worked in the commercial flooring industry for over 30 years. He’s been a force in the flooring world in Central Oregon since 1987 and currently runs a crew of four employees.

Razor utilizes the impressive Renegade 5700 riding floor scraper. The machine weighs 2200-lbs, is battery operated, can fit through a standard door and is equipped with sized blades to rip up different types of unwanted floor coverings.

“There’s no fumes and it’ll take off the product 80 percent faster than any other conventional hand-removal methods. This isn’t like some machine you go down to the rental yard and rent. Small walk-behind machines are severely limited in their uses.”

Razor Floor Removal has been involved in a range of major projects in the region like St. Charles Hospital, Best Buy, Fred Myers, the new Hobby Lobby and numerous other commercial properties in Bend, Redmond and the entire state of Oregon.

“Sometimes I’ll get a last minute call from builders that need it stripped out immediately and we accommodate those types of rush jobs. We also work after hours and weekends. I can tear apart something huge like Walmart or smaller retail stores like a Subway or McDonalds.

“There’s only one other area person who does this type of work and it’s definitely a specialty trade. The way I’ve looked at it is our service complements vital projects and helps keep everybody on time and on budget.”

The labor-intensive, hand scraping and endless chipping away of stubborn floor material is a thing of the past. After McIntyre’s Renegade machine is done, the stripped clean floor is ready to receive new flooring applications. They also provide haul away service and disposal of the old material.

McIntyre loves his clients and the satisfaction that comes with his experience and confidence at tackling the toughest jobs.

“I want to do something not anyone can do, a unique service that’s in need by building owners, laborers and contractors because of the physical requirements of taking up flooring by hand,” he added. “It’s just a much easier way to do things.”
