KIDS Center, Central Oregon’s only child abuse intervention center, is gearing up for their sixth annual Cork & Barrel event series held this July 19th-21st. Cork & Barrel raises approximately 20% of KIDS Center’s annual operating budget each year helping to provide vital services for children and families impacted by child abuse. Each of the three Cork & Barrel events are unique, but are all focused on food, wine, and making a difference for the children of Central Oregon. Keeping with the tradition of featuring a different wine region each year, Cork & Barrel will feature 16 wineries from Sonoma County this July:

Angels & Cowboys | Cannonball
Donelan Family Wines
Francis Ford Coppola Winery
Kanzler Family Vineyards
Laurel Glen Vineyard
La Pitchoune Winery
Limerick Lane Wines
Mauritson Wines
Pedroncelli Winery
Ramey Wine Cellars
Rodney Strong Vineyards
Seghesio Family Vineyards
SIMI Winery
Trione Vineyards & Winery
Williams Selyem
Quivira Vineyards

If you enjoy a small, intimate setting, Cork & Barrel will be kicking off the weekend of events with five unique Winemaker Dinners throughout Central Oregon. Limited to just 40 attendees, these dinners provide guests with the opportunity to have one-on-one interactions with local and regional chefs, and winemakers from the beautiful Sonoma County. These five Winemaker Dinners will be held at CURRENTS at the Riverhouse, CHOW Restaurant, The Brickhouse, The Suttle Lodge & Boathouse, and The Victorian Café, featuring Guest Chef OJ Robinson, from the Benson Hotel in Portland. Tickets are going fast, with several of the dinners nearly sold out.

A Sip of Cork & Barrel will be held at Broken Top Club on the green on Friday, July 20th. Hundreds of community members attend this festival-like wine tasting and small bite reception each year.

Shelly Smith, Executive Director of KIDS Center, relays, “A Sip of Cork & Barrel is perfect for the first-time Cork & Barrel go-er. You can sip on wine and savor small bites from local and regional chefs, all while supporting KIDS Center! There will be a silent auction, party boards, and a purse raffle where you could take home $1,000 of cold, hard cash!”

In addition to the 16 wineries, A Sip of Cork & Barrel will also feature 9 local and regional chefs and restaurants:

900 Wall Restaurant & Bar
The Suttle Lodge & Restaurant
CURRENTS
Solomon’s of Tetherow
Broken Top Club
The Benson Hotel
Nancy P’s Café & Bakery
Too Sweet Cakes
Pine Tavern

The Grand Cru event on July 21st is the grand finale of Cork & Barrel and will feature a wine reception similar to A Sip of Cork & Barrel and will be followed by a 5-course dinner prepared and created by Chef Darrell Henrichs of 10Below Restaurant. During the dinner, guests will be presented with Cork & Barrel’s best live auction yet, featuring lots like a bike and barge trip through the Netherlands and Belgium, a collectible guitar signed by Paul McCartney, and a year-long membership to The Loft of Bend which includes a wine-filled locker! Shelly Smith says, “We invite the community to attend any of the events at Cork & Barrel to support the work we do to protect and help the children of Central Oregon.”

Tickets for all three events are going quickly but are still available at corkandbarrel.org
