Facebook has announced the new cycle of its Community Action Grants program. Facebook is invested in the long-term vitality of Crook County, and this annual grant program addresses local needs by making grants available to nonprofit organizations and schools for projects address critical community needs by doing one or more of the following:

  • Putting the power of technology to use for community benefit
  • Connecting people online or off

Eligibility guidelines and an online application link are available here. Applications are being accepted now through October 16, 2020. A Facebook page is not required to apply for a grant. Eligible organizations can apply at cybergrants.com/facebook/DataCenterGrantsUSA.

Here is information about the 2020 Facebook Community Grants recipients, which were announced in March 2020. The recipients included Rimrock Trails Treatment Center, supporting technology for its teens in residential treatment, and Crook County School District, supporting its STEAM education program by adding technology to its arts education program.

As you may know, in addition to this program, earlier this year Facebook distributed $967,500 in COVID-19 relief grants locally.
