As the nation honors these American heroes for their military service on Veterans Day, November 11, Hospice of Redmond extends recognition and Veteran-centric care to military veterans and their families when facing a life-limiting illness throughout the year. This Veterans Day at 2pm at the Wall of Honor located on the Hospice of Redmond grounds, the Honor Guard is hosting a Dedication Ceremony. The event will unveil the newest panel of 61 veteran names — both living and deceased who have a connection to Central Oregon. The event will also include a TAPS ceremony.

In recognition of Veterans Day, the Dedication Ceremony will be facilitated by Don DeLand, Captain of the VFW Post 4108 and American Legion Post 44, and will be attended by the Honor Guard and Band of Brothers. Everyone is encouraged to attend to honor the brave men and women who gave up so much for us.

As a We Honor Veterans partner, Hospice of Redmond provides specialized care to veterans facing a life-limiting illness and their families throughout the year. This includes a Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer program, recognition and pinning ceremonies, and assistance navigating veteran benefits.

Hospice of Redmond is excited to begin adding more names to their Wall of Honor and is inviting our community to recognize veterans in their lives by adding them to the Wall. The tax-deductible donation for engraving is $30. This stunning monument honors both living and deceased veterans with an honorable military service discharge and some connection or link to our beautiful State of Oregon.

“We are very excited to have this newest panel added to our Wall of Honor,” said Jane McGuire, operations manager at Hospice of Redmond. “It is an honor to recognize on such a significant day, these 61 veterans who are being added as well as the hundreds of veteran names currently on the Wall of Honor panels.”
