Founded in 1988, the Bend-La Pine Education Foundation is an independent, nonprofit organization made up of parents, community leaders, educators and citizens. United by a shared commitment, we believe that maintaining a strong and dynamic public school system is vital to the social and economic health of the community.

Through the generosity of local business leaders, foundation partners and individual donors, we are able to invest in classrooms and students, through Classroom Enrichments, Activity Fee Scholarships and Perseverance Scholarships.

Classroom Enrichments: This program channels resources directly into classrooms, empowering teachers to implement innovative projects and programs such as STEM, career technical education, art, music and wellness. Last year, the Foundation invested $126,200 directly into 71 classrooms for innovative instructional programs at elementary, middle and high schools.

Activity Fee Scholarships: We provide financial assistance to students, ensuring that activity fees do not become a barrier to participation in sports and other after-school activities. This support makes it possible for students, regardless of their financial circumstances, to engage in after-school activities and build valuable life skills. Last year, 263 students received scholarship assistance.

Perseverance Scholarships: The Perseverance Awards program honors students who have demonstrated outstanding determination and resilience when confronted with adversity. Established to recognize those who consistently show dedication and persistence, this initiative acknowledges the aspirations they hold for their future endeavors.

We invite you to join the Foundation in supporting our public schools, educators and students.
