MountainStar and KIDS Center are co-hosting a community awareness event in observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 27 at Deschutes Brewery’s Tap Room (1044 NW Bond St. in downtown Bend). Doors open at 5pm and the program runs 5:30 to 7:30pm.
Participants are invited to join in a conversation to examine challenges faced by families and the resulting impact on our community. Several short films will be shown to inspire group discussion, including the must-see ACEs TED Talk. Community members will have an opportunity to reflect on the uncomfortable but important topic of child abuse, as well as explore solutions for strengthening families and building healthier communities.
The event is free to attend, with a $10 suggested donation at the door. Appetizers and drinks will be provided by the Spark! Event Sponsor, Deschutes Brewery. Guests are encouraged to bring cash as there will be a raffle for a fantastic prize basket!
