Since its founding eighteen months ago, 100+ Men Who Care has generated more than $60,000 in donations to six Central Oregon charities. The past recipients include Saving Grace, Grandma’s House, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Oregon, Boys & Girls Club of Bend, KIDS Center, and Community Shower Truck.

Co-Founder and Jordan Ramis PC attorney Steve Shropshire commented, “We are humbled by the generosity of the men in our community, who are helping to make a significant difference in Central Oregon through this powerful fundraising model.”

Community Shower Truck Selected as First 2017 Recipient
In the first quarter of 2017, the group raised $10,500 for Community Shower Truck, an organization that gives squeaky clean a new meaning. Community Shower Truck is a non-profit organization that provides free, basic hygiene to the citizens of Bend who do not have access to a bathing facility. The truck also provides other basic hygiene items such as new socks, underwear, razors, soap, and other personal care supplies. The group’s donation will help Community Shower Truck purchase new supplies, expand their days of service, and start a replacement fund for their 20+-year-old truck.

100+ Men Explained
The 100+ Men Who Care organization is built on the crowd-sourced philanthropy fundraising model. Members nominate charities, who if picked in a random drawing, pitch their mission to the membership. The membership then votes and the selected charity takes home the proceeds from the evening. The group’s goal is to raise at least $10,000 per quarter.

Membership is open to all men living in Central Oregon. The members agree to contribute $100 per quarter toward that quarter’s charitable donation. Eligible charities include 501(c)(3) organizations located in Central Oregon.
