A Springtime Tradition Returns

A longtime favorite on Central Oregon’s running calendar, the Salmon Run returns to Bend on Saturday, April 18, 2026, marking its 38th year of bringing runners together along the Deschutes River. The annual spring race invites participants to celebrate movement and the shared journey that defines Bend’s outdoor community.

Hosted at Riverbend Park, the Salmon Run features half-marathon, 10K, and 5K distances designed to showcase the region’s natural beauty. As one of the earliest races of the season, the event offers an ideal opportunity for runners to shake off winter and kick off a year of running adventures.

Inspired by the salmon’s annual migration, the Salmon Run embraces perseverance and renewal — values reflected in both the course and the community that returns year after year.

Event Highlights Include:

Scenic Riverfront Courses
Routes follow a mix of trails and paved pathways near the Deschutes River, offering peaceful scenery and a refreshing spring backdrop.

Commemorative Medals & Race Swag
All participants receive custom finisher medals inspired by the salmon migration, along with thoughtfully designed race gear.

Community Impact
The Salmon Run is proud to once again support The Giving Plate as its beneficiary. The Giving Plate serves more than 500 families each month through its food box program and reaches approximately 40,000 individuals annually across all programs.
