Franklin Avenue Construction Starts in May

Construction on Franklin Avenue will be completed in three phases. Traffic impacts will change during each phase. Phase 1 includes replacing and upgrading underground water pipes on Franklin Avenue from First Street through Fourth Street. Work is estimated to begin in May and continue through June.

What to Expect During Phase 1 Construction-May through June

  • Night work from 7pm-7am. Night work traffic control includes lane closures and occasional flagging, but traffic will be open in both directions.
  • During the day, expect normal traffic flow.
  • The construction area includes Franklin Avenue, NE First Street, NE Second Street, NE Third Street and NE Fourth Street.

Phase 2 construction will begin in June, pending City Council approval. Learn more about planned improvements and what you need to know about the upcoming construction, visit bendoregon.gov/midtowncrossing.
