RootedHomes will mark the completion of Rooted at 19th, a community of 23 permanently affordable homes, with a public ribbon cutting on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 11am-1pm in Redmond. Community members, partners, elected officials, and supporters will be present to recognize a major milestone in the expansion of affordable homeownership across Central Oregon.

Rooted at 19th is a 23-home community built to support local workforce families through the Community Land Trust model, which keeps homes affordable for generations to come. The development includes a mix of two- and three-bedroom duplexes, along with the preservation of an existing four-bedroom farmhouse. Every home is built to net-zero energy standards designed to lower long-term utility costs and support healthier living.

The community reflects RootedHomes’ mission to provide environmentally sustainable, permanently affordable homeownership for those who contribute to the fabric of Central Oregon’s economy and community.

“Rooted at 19th is a great example of what can happen when partners come together around a shared commitment-creating housing that remains affordable for generations,” said Eliza Wilson, executive director of RootedHomes. “These 23 homes represent opportunities for teachers, healthcare workers, service industry professionals, and other local families to continue living and thriving in their community. Every home we build is a forever investment in keeping Central Oregon affordable.”

The project was developed in partnership with Solaire Homebuilders, Oregon Housing and Community Services, Energy Trust of Oregon, Business Oregon, and the City of Redmond, along with many other partners committed to creating high-quality, attainable homes in Central Oregon.

‘’Working with RootedHomes and our shared homeowner community is one of the highlights of our professional lives. Building sustainable, net-zero energy homes that let people live where they work is immeasurably rewarding to our team, our trade partners, and all our Solaire clients across Central Oregon,” said Geoff & MaryLea Harris, owners of Solaire Homebuilders.

The celebration is free and open to the public. Neighbors are welcome to join project partners and community leaders for remarks, light refreshments, site tours, and a chance to honor the future homeowners and partnerships that made Rooted at 19th possible.

About RootedHomes:
RootedHomes, formerly Kôr Community Land Trust, is a Central Oregon nonprofit creating permanently affordable, energy-efficient homeownership opportunities for the region’s workforce. Using the Community Land Trust model, the organization stewards the land beneath each home so prices stay within reach for generations of buyers, not just one family. Every home is built to net-zero energy standards that lower utility costs and support healthier living. To date, RootedHomes has built communities in Bend and Redmond and a home in Sisters, with expansion into Prineville planned for 2027. Pairing sustainable construction with community-centered development helps teachers, healthcare workers, service industry professionals, and other essential workers put down roots in the communities they serve.
