The City of Bend is beginning its 20-year growth plan, Bend Made. Bend Made is the City of Bend’s plan for the next 20 years, guiding how the city grows with intention and purpose. The plan coordinates housing, infrastructure and jobs as one system, so where we live, how we get around and how we make a living all grow together. Oregon requires cities to plan for future growth. Bend Made is how our community chooses to do it—shaped by the people who live here, now and for decades to come. It’s our time to connect, imagine and decide who Bend becomes—together.
Community involvement is built into every step. With the launch of Bend Made, the City is using a community engagement tool called Social Point to collect information and feedback from the community.
Social Point is a site that offers a variety of participation methods, including surveys, questions and interactive maps. All feedback will be recorded as part of the project. The site can be accessed through the City’s Bend Made webpage, bendoregon.gov/bendmade.
“Bend Made is about listening to our community and building a shared vision for the future,” said Brian Rankin, senior strategist for future growth & development. “The feedback we receive through this tool will help guide Bend’s growth over the next 20 years and ensure our plans reflect local priorities, preserves what makes Bend special and prepares us for the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
There is already a survey available to get involved in planning Bend’s future. The Housing Needs Survey provides an opportunity for community members to provide feedback on housing experiences and better understand the needs of community members living in Bend.
