Urgent care, imaging and laboratory services open October 19, followed by family medicine, pediatrics and allergy & asthma in mid-November.
After more than a year of planning and construction, Bend Memorial Clinic will open the new Old Mill District Clinic to patients starting October 19. Located at 815 SW Bond St., at the corner of Bond Street and Columbia Avenue in Bend’s Old Mill District, the clinic will include urgent care, imaging, laboratory services, family medicine, pediatrics, and allergy& asthma. An official open house celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10am-2pm.
The first areas to open will be Urgent Care, Imaging, and Laboratory Services, which will begin seeing patients on Sunday, October 19. To prepare for the opening, the Westside BMC Urgent Care will be closed on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18. Patients needing urgent care on Friday and Saturday can be seen at the BMC Eastside Urgent Care location.
The remaining departments will open on a staggered basis in the Old Mill District with Family Medicine and Allergy & Asthma on November 10 and Pediatrics on November 17.
BMC’s move to open an Old Mill location is in response to a significant increase in the number of patients it serves over the last several years. In 2013 alone, the multi-specialty clinic added 13 new providers in order to meet growing demand for primary care and specialty services.
“Our eastside and westside Bend clinics were at or very near capacity, and we felt that an additional Bend location would not only reaffirm our commitment to the highest quality patient care, but allow us room to continue to grow as Central Oregon grows,” said Christy McLeod, BMC’s Chief Operating Officer. “We selected the Old Mill site for its convenience particularly for our patients who live in southwest Bend and southern Deschutes County.”
At approximately 41,000 square feet, BMC’s Old Mill District clinic is three times the size of its current Westside location, and is easily accessible for those traveling north or south on the Bend Parkway via the Reed Market Road exit.
BMC’s Old Mill District clinic will be home to 30 providers and seven services, including Allergy & Asthma, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Urgent Care, Imaging, Lab, and Anticoagulation – all of which will be transitioning patients from their current locations to the Old Mill clinic between Oct. 19 and Nov. 17.
Construction to update BMC’s existing Westside location will begin and by December the Westside Clinic on Mt. Bachelor Drive will house Neurology, as well as its Neck and Back Clinic and its Sleep Disorders Center, along with Optometry and Blink Optical.
The Old Mill District Clinic’s free public grand opening celebration is slated for Saturday, November 15 from 10am to 2pm, and will include clinic tours and refreshments.
