To meet the immediate and future demands in healthcare ancillary services, Cascade Custom Pharmacy (formerly CustomCare Rx), has expanded its offerings to include traditional pharmaceutical products and services in addition to its specialty compounding services
With the latest trends in health care reform initiatives, combined with an aging baby boomer population and a rise in patients suffering from chronic conditions, it’s no wonder that healthcare in Central Oregon is booming. Recently, St. Charles Health Systems completed work on its Cancer Care Center expansion project; Bend Memorial Clinic will be expanding its services to the Old Mill District later this fall and four new pharmacies including Cascade Custom Pharmacy (Bend’s only pharmacy offering custom compounded medications), have entered the local healthcare scene in just the past few months.
To meet the immediate and future demands in healthcare ancillary services, Cascade Custom Pharmacy (formerly CustomCare Rx), has expanded its offerings to include traditional pharmaceutical products and services in addition to its specialty compounding services. As part of this expansion, the locally owned Pharmacy has relocated to a 2,300 square foot retail space in Brookswood Meadow Plaza in Southwest Bend, complete with state-of-the-art compounding lab, private consultation/immunization suite, an extensive over-the-counter section and specialty gift items from local businesses and artisans.
Cascade Custom Pharmacy now serves an area of nearly 10,000 households accounting for approximately twenty five percent of the total population of Bend, all within a two-mile radius and also offers delivery and mail-out services for those living and working outside the immediate area.
“Although we will continue specializing in compounding, or custom-made prescription medications, the move toward offering additional pharmacy products and services is a necessary one to continue meeting the total health and wellness needs of our community,” says Angela Valerga, R.Ph., owner and operator. “Compounding is our true niche and it’s something we’re very passionate about,” Valerga said.

Cascade Custom Pharmacy is a locally and pharmacist owned and operated full service independent and compounding pharmacy which was founded by Angela Valerga, a long-time Bend resident and former Pharmacy Manager of Pharmacy Express, inside Ray’s Food Place in Redmond. In May of 2014, Cascade Custom Pharmacy purchased CustomCare Rx, a compounding pharmacy located on the east side of Bend.
