BLRB Architects has been contracted by the Tacoma Housing Authority in Washington to continue planning, designs and construction administration for a new six-story mix of retail and live/work building in the Hilltop neighborhood of Downtown Tacoma.
The residential portion will consist of one- and two-bedroom units with shared indoor and outdoor amenities. Designs will acknowledge and respond to proportion, human scale and the historic character of the neighborhood’s surrounding context, as well as conform to Evergreen Sustainable Design Standards.
Jim Landin, who directs BLRB’s Housing Studio for all four offices, will be project manager on this project. Mike Gorman, director of BLRB’s Bend Office and Commercial Studio, will act as project architect.
