The exciting, high-flying X-Treme AirDogs competition is back by popular demand at the 2015 Central Oregon Sportsmen’s Show, featuring man’s best friends showing off their amazing jumping skills as they launch into a massive swimming pool at high speeds. Experienced dogs will compete in three exhilarating sports competitions for spectators to enjoy. Plus, participants can join the fun with their own pooches, thanks to the Give It A Try program.

Each day the show will feature various competitions, training and demo sessions. There’s never a dull moment! Daily activities include three sports: X-Treme Air, a long jump for dogs; X-Treme Vertical, a last-dog-standing high jump; and X-Treme Retrieve, a race against time in the pool. A new X-Treme K-9 award will be given to the dog with the highest score in each event.

The X-Treme Air competition includes five divisions:

• Novice, including Give It A Try, for dogs who jump between 0 and 10 feet
• Amateur, for dogs who jump 10 to 15 feet
• Semi-Pro, for dogs who jump 15 to 20 feet
• Pro, for dogs who jump 20 to 25 feet
• X-Treme Pro for dogs who jump over 25 feet

Also, be sure to check out the X-Treme Vertical and the X-Treme Retrieve competitions. The X-Treme Vertical competition measures high jumps for dogs in Semi-Pro, jumping under 6 feet, and Pro, jumping 6 feet or higher. The X-Treme Retrieve also measures Semi-Pro, retrieving between 19 to 30 seconds, and Pro, retrieving in 19 seconds or under. Awards will be given per competitor, including trophies in Novice, Amateur, and Semi-Pro divisions, and cash prizes for the Pro and X-Treme Pro divisions.

World-class competitors and dogs from around North America will be in Redmond to compete during the show; however, this exciting feature is not just for the pros. X-Treme Air’s Give It A Try™ program is designed for everyone. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday during the show, attendees are invited to try this exhilarating sport with their own canine partner. Dog owners over the age of seven can sign up with their water-loving, fetch-adoring dog – regardless of breed, size, shape or ability. All dogs over the age of six months are welcome, and dog owners new to the sport can get tips from X-Treme AirDogs’ staff on coaching and encouraging their pooches.
