New vistas have been opened up for a long-established Bend auto operator as the grand opening gets underway for the remodeled Robberson Ford flagship after a wholesale renovation which has seen the Third Street facility expand its sales showroom, administrative offices and customer support areas to over 28,000 square feet.
President Jeff Robberson, who followed in the footsteps of his late father Gordon who founded the dealership in Bend in 1957, said that while it may have been viewed as easier to build from the ground up at an alternate site, the remodel project on the property it has occupied since 1972 illustrated “a long-term commitment to the community, to the continued revitalization of the Third Street corridor neighborhood and providing a state-of-the-art operation in a central, easily accessible location.”
As part of the expansion, overseen by Kirby Nagelhout Construction and designed by BBT Architects in conjunction with Ford, cutting edge technology has been installed regarding service diagnostics for a team which has a higher ratio of qualified “master technicians” than any other Ford dealership in the state – which has also played a part in the group winning Ford’s prestigious President’s Award several times including this current annual cycle, in recognition of outstanding customer satisfaction.
Other highlights of the $5 million project include an expanded showroom with more salesperson’s private offices, additional service and support capability including the deployment of latest technology and additional exterior chargers for electric-power capable vehicles.
More comprehensive coverage of the remodel and expansion project will appear in an upcoming issue of Cascade Business News.
