Community Invited to Spring Cleanup at Bend, Oregon’s Off-leash Areas

Dog lovers and park users are invited to lend a hand at a community-wide spring cleanup eventat all seven of Bend Park & Recreation District’soff-leash areas.Scheduled for Saturday, April 25, the annual “Dog Park Cleanup Day” is from 9:00 am to 12 noon.

The event is hosted by the district and severalvolunteer groups and families that have adopted the off-leash areas.The cleanup offersdog park users an opportunity to help care for the spaces they use and enjoy.

Participants will pick up dog poop, pull invasive weeds and remove rocks to help keep the dog parks enjoyable and safe for all users. Volunteers should bring their own gloves, shovel or scoop and water. Bags and some tools will be provided.

As park and trail use increases this time of year, Bend Park & Recreation District reminds all dog owners to be responsible and to “scoop the poop” whenever they are in a public space.
