Bipartisan supporters will advocate for Mirror Pond in Ways and Means Committee.
Since the public hearing for HB 3283 two weeks ago, several Democrat legislators have signed onto Rep. Buehler’s bill to fund the Mirror Pond project. Senator Beyer of Springfield, Senator Edwards of Eugene and Representative Helm of Washington County join a diverse coalition that includes many local residents, community leaders, organizations and elected officials.
“The Mirror Pond project is a tremendous opportunity to preserve one of Oregon’s iconic rivers and pass on a better Bend for our children and grandchildren. I appreciate the support from my fellow legislators and from our growing local coalition. I look forward to working together to transform two aging dams and restore a more natural and healthier flow to the Deschutes River,” said Rep. Buehler.
