The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is August 15 at High Desert Middle School in Bend, and the community is getting involved in more ways than one. Not only have 39 teams already signed up to participate – with teams like the one from local real estate firm Harcourts The Garner Group entering their fourth year in a row – but many local artists and businesses have donated fantastic items for the event’s silent auction.
One example is the pictured painting entitled Pioneer Dreamhouse by local abstract naturalist artist Mollie Jurgenson, which will be up for auction along with donations from other local artists, photographers, businesses and community members.
Relay For Life events honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. Money raised through the event goes to the American Cancer Society to help them in their mission to prevent and eliminate cancer.
