Oregon-based natural products company turns to crowdfunding for expansion. Lava Love, an all-natural line of volcanic clay detox baths, soaps and masks based in Bend, Oregon, will launch its first ever Kickstarter campaign tomorrow. The company, which has been selling at Whole Foods in Portland and Bend, Newport Market in Bend and on Amazon.com, aims to expand production and distribution.

The company was inspired by a healing journey. Lava Love’s co-founder, Elisabeth Dunham, developed Lyme’s disease due to toxins that accumulated in her body. After a long struggle, she eventually changed her diet and used volcanic clay baths to detoxify and heal. She was so happy about her results that she created Lava Love natural bath and body products to share this detoxifying line with others.

Not only do Lava Love products not contain any harmful ingredients, they actually remove toxins from the body.

“Lava is an amazing element,” said Dunham. “When finely ground and mixed with water it actually has a negative ion charge that binds with and removes positively charged toxins from the body.”

In addition tonatural foods and specialty retailers, Lava Love has set its sights on the spa marketplace. The products have already been adopted by two spas in Bend, Anjou Spa and Endless Beauty Spa, which are using them in facials and vichy body treatments.

“The positive feedback we’ve gotten from consumers and retailers alike tells us that the time is right for this kind of product to enter the mainstream,” said Jennifer Clifton, co-founder of Lava Love. “We are hopeful that our current fans and the Kickstarter community will help us achieve the kind of growth we need to take the company to the next level.”

About Lava Love
Bend, Oregon-based Lava Love was inspired by a healing journey. After company co-founder, Elisabeth Dunham, was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease in 2008, she spent years searching in vain for a cure through conventional means. She eventually healed herself over time by changing her diet and using clay baths to detoxify her body and regain her immune function. Her close friend and co-founder, Jennifer Clifton, with health issues of her own, took note and soon followed suit, with great results. Wanting to share what they learned to help others, they recently formed Lava Love, a natural line of healing bath and body products made with volcanic minerals, all sourced in Oregon. www.lavalovebend.com Lava Love on Facebook
