City Club of Central Oregon announced the elected of Barb Hess PHR as the organization’s 2016 board president. Hess follows Jamie Christman, who served in this leadership role in 2015. Hess is director of human resources for Brooks Resources Corporation. She has been with Brooks Resources for over 33 years and is also corporate secretary and administrator of the company’s charitable contributions.
She currently serves on the board of directors of the Human Resource Association of Central Oregon and is a past president of that board.
Hess joined the City Club of Central Oregon board of directors in 2011, serving on multiple committees and demonstrating her leadership talents every step of the way. Hess was born and raised in New Jersey. After attending college in Big Sandy, Texas, she visited her newly relocated family in Oregon and stayed. She met her husband, Steve, raised two sons, Travis & Chris, and now has two grandsons and a granddaughter. She is a Leadership Bend alumna, Class of 2002.
Current board members of City Club include Pamela Hulse Andrews (president-elect), Bill Buchanan (past president), Jamie Christman (past president), Peter Grube, Marla Hacker (secretary, Barb Hess (president), James Lussier (past president) and Liisa Sjoblom (treasurer).
Leaving the board this year are Eli Ashley, Ann Golden Eglé, David Rosell and Don Stevens.
New board members are David DeRose (US Bank), Jeff Monson (Commute Options), Julie Brinks (TDS Telecom), Anne Aurand (City of Bend), Andrea Phelps (Windermere), Diane Harild (Umpqua Bank) and Suzanne Lafky (ex-officio, Oregon Adaptive Sports).
