Redmond Precision Products Company Sees 5,000 Percent Growth

Redmond-based BasX Solutions has been honored as the fastest growing company in Oregon and southwest Washington after reporting a dizzying growth rate of over 5,500 per cent from 2013-15 which saw revenues skyrocket from around $400,000 to over $23 million.

Established in 2012, the custom-engineered product specialists were recognized with the accolade by Portland Business Journal, which reported the growth increase as the second fastest in the publication’s history.

And there are no signs of the enterprise slowing down anytime soon with President Matthew Tobolski, PhD, SE, estimating sales could double in 2016 with ever bigger projects in the company’s sights and an increasing proportion of business involved in providing cooling technology for tech data centers.

Tobolski said: “We knew if we pulled together the best people in the industry, understood our clients’ needs, treated everyone right and delivered on our promises, we would succeed.

“This award is a testament to all the hard work and tireless hours that the BasX team has put in. I just want to thank the entire BasX team, our vendors, clients, representatives and the local Central Oregon community for helping make our vision a reality.”

Co-Founder and BasX CEO Dave Benson also acknowledged that being an entrepreneurial company has helped forge the firm’s success, adding: “We often times are competing with large corporations for many of our projects. These companies often times do not have the ability to innovate and take risks like we can.

“Our success is not only in developing innovative solutions, but also from the commitment of our team and suppliers to aggressively deliver quality products on short time windows.”

BasX Solutions, acquired the former Wal-Mart building located off Yew Ave., in 2013 with their aggressive expansion leading it to fully utilize the 103,000 square foot facility and create close to 2000 jobs.

Tobolski said plans were already in the works to expand on the company’s site to add an additional 80,000 square foot, including 10,000 square feet of offices, which could see the workforce double in the next 3-4 years.

The manufacture of precision custom engineered products has lead BasX to become an industry leader in commercial HVAC, data center cooling, clean room or seismic needs and modular prefabricated technology.

One example of the company’s innovation is in the production of isolation suites used in connection with deadly viruses such as Ebola. The suite features advanced containment features designed to keep the patient isolated but comfortable.

It can serve as an observation unit or a treatment area, and the units may be connected to one another while remaining individually isolated to create an entire complex.

The name BasX is derived from the concept of “Back to the Basics” with the principals remaining true to their core values and the fundamental aspects of product development, design and manufacturing while continually innovating the approach, applications and methods to create better solutions to meet the industry’s evolving requirements and needs.

Tobolski observed: “A lot comes down to good business partners and our team treating people right.

“Every custom-engineered product assignment poses the question of what best way to design and build. We have an innovative approach and the advantage of a turnkey shop assembling products in-house and a full team on the floor to complete the process.

“Any efficiencies in areas such as data centers can represent huge costs savings for operations running 24/7 and as our name has become more established it has enabled us to go after larger clients.”

Jon Stark, senior manager at Redmond Economic Development, Inc. said: “It’s been truly a great business development success story here in the Central Oregon region.”
